Here at Dog & His Boy, each of us has one of those pesky Y chromosomes. Being a no-girls-allowed home for wayward deaf (and hearing) dogs, we have to be creative in our Mother’s Day celebrations.
In honor of all #dogmoms, I want to recognize a few dog mom bloggers and microbloggers doing some amazing work. Check out these pet moms and their blogs, follow them on social media and be inspired!
Barking From The Bayou: M.K. is an accomplished author, excellent blogger and is one of those wonderfully generous people always willing to share what she knows with others. Seriously, anytime I’ve asked her for anything, she’s come through. On her blog, you can follow the adventures of Bentley and Pierre along with lots of great product reviews and educational posts with lots of keen insights.
DogMomDays: Amanda is a great writer with a beautiful blog where she chronicles the daily life of being a dog mom. Oh, and she regularly features Wynston, the agility Chihuahua! I’m super impressed because I don’t typically put Chihuahua and agility together in the same sentence. Amanda, too, is always willing to help others trying to tell their stories.
Miss Belles Manners: Michelle is an author, blogger, dog trainer and radio show host. On her blog, she shares great dog training tips and insights. Michelle will also be my roommate at the Blog Paws conference in Nashville at the end of May and I will have the extreme pleasure of walking her (and two other lovelies) down the red carpet. #stoked!
Fidose of Reality: This is a phenomenal blog with so much great information that I don’t even know where to begin. Carol is, I think, a genius who never stops working and writing. She always supports other bloggers and in her role as BlogPaws PR and Marketing Manager, she works hard to help everyone tell their stories, share their experiences and promote the human-animal bond. You’ll also get to meet and know Dex, her stunning Cocker Spaniel. I might need to fan-boy stalk Carol in Nashville!
Pibbling With Theodore: While it’s true that Theo is one of the most hilarious dogs I’ve ever met, his genius, his accomplishments and his happy ending has absolutely everything to do with his dog mom, Trish. Theo is a fight dog survivor who now has his own Facebook page and hashtag, #pibbling. I recently had a chance to interview Theo, which you can read here. Follow Theo on Facebook right this second. I promise you’ll thank me.
Deaf Dogs Rock: Okay, any discussion of dog moms that I admire absolutely must include Christina with Deaf Dogs Rock. Anyone who knows me or follows my blog knows that I simply adore Christina. She is completely dedicated to all six of her dogs, including DDR inspiration and mascot, Nitro, and his also-deaf sidekick, Bud. She works tirelessly on behalf of deaf dogs everywhere, sharing great content and training tips for people who live with deaf dogs. To say that Edison and Foster would not have been possible is a huge understatement. Christina is my friend, my mentor and my Wonder Woman.
Happy Mother’s Day to all dog moms! All the boys here at Dog & His Boy have nothing but respect and adoration for what you do!
But let’s not forget…not all boys stink and bite. I do, but not all of us.
What a wonderful Mother’s Day surprise! You brought tears to my eyes. You are so getting a hug in Nashville! ?
Whoo hoo! Just keep your hands above my waist. You know, I drive all the ladies wild with desire!
