Welcome to Street Art of Miami: Drive By Photos in Little Haiti, Upper East Side and Wynwood. This is the first in a series of posts I will write, well, whenever the mood strikes me. Today, I’m focusing on the street art of Miami in the Little Haiti, Upper East Side and a few quickies from Wynwood.
The idea behind Street Art of Miami: Drive By Photos is simple really: I only shoot the wall if I can do it from my car. It’s a photo experiment to see what street art I can flick as viewed from inside my car. I may position the car, or pull in the side-view mirrors, or I may jump in the passenger seat, or I may hang out the window, but my body is always in the car.
If I could ever get my ass in gear and actually send out a newsletter to those of you who have subscribed but never received one, Street Art of Miami: Drive By Photos may be a good series to include.
The two shots above are of one of my favorite walls Miami. It’s in the Little River/ Upper East Side area of Miami and is a collaboration between artists @abstrak, @hoxxoh, @atomiko, @astre74, @arive-_msg, @luiserros, @bulk_styles @bopalka & @miamiquake. I adore this wall and I had a blast reinterpreting it for my Drive-by Photos experiment.
Some political wheat paste art found in Wynwood, Miami.
This wall is in the Little Haiti neighborhood of Miami. If you know the artist, HMU so I can share.
To shoot this wall, I pulled into the dual-purpose left turn/ right turn lane on Biscayne Boulevard in the Upper East Side, threw the car in neutral and started flicking photos. This wall has been there for years but no one I’ve asked knows who the artist. HMU if you do.
Whether it’s what you do or who you’re doing it with, true love is timeless. ~ Love @caron.paris
This kick-ass wall by Panmela Castro is located in the Beaker & Grey parking lot in Wynwood, Miami. I’ve tried uncountable times to shoot it without parked car obstructions, but I’ve given up. One car is the closest I’ve been able to get and with a different lens, it’s not so bad.
This colorful wallis a collaboration between artists Stefano and Conrad Florez and is located in Wynwood, Miami.
