Fostering an animal for a shelter or a rescue group literally saves lives. It is a critical piece of the complex puzzle that creates a no-kill community and a no-kill nation. Shelters only have so much space and rescue organizations only have so many foster homes. By joining the foster care movement, you can give provide safe space, a warm bed and love for an animal that desperately needs a temporary, transitional home. You can be the bridge between a cage (or worse) and a loving family that will worship the ground those four paws scratch and dig in.
Google your local animal shelter or animal control. Look around on social media for a rescue group that speaks to you, say perhaps, one that specializes in deaf dogs or bully dogs. Call them up and ask about their foster care program. The shelter team will fall all over themselves welcoming you and the help you can provide.
Once you get that fuzzy ball of love in your home, you will soon realize that he will give you as much as you give him. And as you can see, a foster animal can turn a terrible horrible very bad no good day into the best evening you’ve had all year!
