As he is deep into his deaf dog training, Foster goes to work with me most days. I have my own office- a very rare phenomenon at my particular shelter- so this works out very well. When I’m at my desk, I put up the baby gate, reinforce the hand signs we are working on and generally enjoy his company as I draft emails, write reports, plan out enrichment activities, develop behavior modification protocols or whatever else demands my attention. When I’m running around the shelter implementing those plans, I close the door and leave him to his bed and his laundry basket that doubles as his toy box. Today, when I popped by to check on him, I found him sleeping on my chair. I love this dog!
